Sable Island Wild Horses - Light Contact

Sable Island Photography Expedition – August 2020

On a windswept island off the coast of Nova Scotia lives a unique group of 500+ wild horses. The Sable Island Horses are the only unmanaged wild horse herd in the Americas and have roamed freely on the island since the mid 1700’s. Uninhabited save for a handful of Parks Canada staff and researchers, this iconic National Park is accessible to only a few visitors each year. Join award-winning wildlife photographer and Royal Canadian Geographical Society fellow Debra Garside on this unique adventure.

Sable Island Wild Horses – The Tempest

“After nine expeditions over the last decade I have spent 64 days on the island in all four seasons. I have traveled there by helicopter, plane and ship, and I have found that accessibility by private ship is by far the most desirable. It is the opportunity to see more of the island, including sunrises and sunsets with the horses, and give visitors an intimate and full experience. I am pleased to offer this adventure in partnership with Kattuk Expeditions. ” Debra Garside
